About LEDs

All lights have a device within them that emits light. That device is a lamp. Most lamps found in today's lights are incandescent lamps. These incandescent lamps are:
  • Reasonably tough.
  • Reasonably efficient - that is they use reasonable amounts of electricity to create light.
  • They last for reasonable amounts of time (25 to 500 hours) before they burn out.
  • Some incandescent lamps last longer but their efficiency becomes very poor.
But things have been changing.
A new type of lamp is now available. It is the LED or "light emitting diode" lamp. A light emitting diode (LED) lamp is essentially a semiconductor diode that emits a single color (monochromatic) light when operated in a forward based direction. An LED lamp consists of the die or light emitting semi-conductor material, a lead frame to support the die, and an encapsulation epoxy which surrounds and protects the structure.

The LED lamp has been around for thirty years. H
however, the old units were very dim and available in only a few colors. Today's LED lamps are far brighter than ever before, and are now available in almost any color.

This is good news for you! If you buy, use or maintain lights, you can now have LED Lights that include the new LED lamps. These new LED Lights are far superior to old incandescent lights because they incorporate all the impressive advantages of the new LED lamps. They are available in almost any voltage, size, or color.

NEW LED LAMPS INCLUDE THESE FEATURES:

  • New LED lamps are extremely tough. There is no glass to shatter and no filament to break so our shockproof LED lamps can take abuse far beyond that of the incandescent lamp.
  • New LED lamps are extremely efficient. They can emit light equal to an incandescent lamp while consuming only 10 percent of the electricity. If a light is battery powered, an LED design requires only 10 percent of the batteries of an incandescent lamp design.
  • New LED lamps last for a long, long time. Many have life spans of 100,000 hours - that is 600 weeks, or over 11 years of continuous use! Therefore, most LED's will never fail.
  • LED lamps are excellent for to use near explosive gasses or liquids. Individual lights still must be designed and tested for each particular use, however, as a general rule, LED lights are the safer choice.
  • LED lamps can withstand large shock and vibration far beyond those tolerated by incandescent lamps.
  • LED lamps are energy efficient, and are environmentally friendly. They do not waste electricity or require large amounts of batteries. This also means they can be solar powered more easily.
  • LED lamps practically eliminate costly maintenance.
  • LED lamps have a low failure rate so they reduce liability when located in areas where a failed light can cause an accident.

WHAT IS THE BAD NEWS ABOUT LED LAMPS?

Individual LED lamps are still not as bright as many incandescent lamps. Therefore, most LED powered lights require a group of LED lamps. However, even this can be an advantage because the group of LED lamps acts as a standby system. Therefore, our lighting devices will not go dark even if one lamp fails.

A GREAT PARTNERSHIP:               LED LIGHTSTM AND LED LAMPS

LED LightsTM is a new organization. We have top notch electronics engineers to design LED lamps into our lights, but we have something even more important. We have rights to special LED optics which are patent pending. The optics make the great new LED lamps twice as good. That is why lights designed by LED LightsTM are twice as good.

We are not smarter than other companies. We just have been working harder and longer. We started designing LED optics over eight years ago when LED lamps were dim.  Now LED lamps are ready and so are our optics. We can incorporate our optics into any type of light for any use. Just ask us. If you are the first we will make a light just for you. Things are happening so fast that as each day passes it is possible that we have already addressed your lighting needs and can show you what made someone else happy.

LED LIGHTSTM SAVES YOU MONEY

When you need a light, you will have to spend money to purchase it. You will also spend money to keep it operating. While operating expenses are often overlooked, they can quickly overtake the initial purchase price of a light.

Operating expenses include:

  • Cost of electricity or batteries,
  • Cost of replacement bulbs,
  • Labor required to replace batteries and bulbs.
  • Also, many lights are required to warn of danger or to permit people to work at night. Light failure can result in substantial expense if it leads to lost labor or accidents. The actual and potential cost of light failure should be considered when selecting a light.
